How Much Money Will the Gold Put in My Pocket?

It has been approximately one week since I gathered my collection of gold earrings, watches, necklaces... broken or otherwise that I was no longer going to use;boxed them up and mailed them via Fed Ex. This was done to examine the advertisements seen in newspapers, magazines, and on television regarding earning money for sending in your gold. I still do not have the final outcome of this money making opportunity. However, yesterday I received an email from Gold Rush Now that indicated my jewelry had been received, and my check from the company for this jewelry was on the way. According to the email, it should arrive within the next five days. I cannot wait to see how much this check is going to be. Will it make me smile and gasp from surprise, or will I start laughing and go in to hysterics from the dollar amount? I don't know, but stay tuned because here you will learn the truth about my experience.

Email Marketing List - Build Your List With These 4 Important Tips

In the last few years more and more businesses are using online marketing as a way of promoting their businesses. One of the most popular and effective methods of improving your online business is to use an email marketing opt in list. This article will explain 4 very effective email marketing opt in strategies that you can use to build your online business.

Due to the high demand for new marketing methods to improve the efficiency of online businesses, a new form of business has spawned. Many companies on the internet will offer to help you build a client base for your online business for a fee, but there are many ways you can build your own client base for next to nothing. One of the most effective is known as opt in email marketing, also known as permission marketing.

Opt in email marketing or permission marketing requires the permission of perspective customers for you to contact them in order to offer them a product or service. This initial way of contacting customers can come about with the use of your marketing materials such as newsletters, catalogs and promotional mailings via email. The more opt in email that is sent the more the chances of you selling your product. In order for you to do this, you must build an emailing list of the people that have subscribed to your opt in mailing list.

From your mailing list you will get targeted customers, this is important because your customers have shown an interest in your product by submitting to your mailing list.

There is a lot of information on how to build your opt in mailing list on the internet, some methods that webmasters use can vary, but there are still some very important basic strategies that you should use.

This is a list of four of the most important ones:

1. Create an effective email opt in form on your website, this should immediately follow at the end of your content. Some webmasters might consider this method to soon to ask for a web visitor to submit an application, but you must remember that most visitors to a website only scan the posting, therefore it is important that you make a good impression at the beginning of your site. If you do not give important, interesting and relevant information early in your posting then visitors will simply move on and not bother to sign up to your mailing list.

Creating an effective email opt in form is easy all you have to do is, write a short to the point statement and ask if your visitors would like to see more, and look at the updates on your site. An area should be provided for inserting the name and email address of the applicant. The opt in form will automatically save and send the data.

2. Your home page must have important, interesting, unique and relevant content. Make your site attractive, useful and easy to navigate.

Do not make your home page too large megabite wise, the faster your site is loaded the better. Create a home page look that is simple and indicates that you are an expert in your niche.

3. It is important that you provide a good product and service, because if you do, you will build a loyal following and your visitors will return to your website again and again. Remember there is no better advertising than word of mouth.

4. Keep your list clean and private, never lose the trust of your customers. If you make your email list available to third parties and they land up as spam you will do irreparable damage to your business and your list will probably unsubscribe to you.

Remember a good reputation will help drive more visitors to your site, and will strengthen the loyalty of your existing customers.

Use the above tips and strategies to build your email marketing list and your business will improve no end.

Ways to Cut Back, Yet Not Look Cheap

During these difficult economic times, it is almost a daily challenge to find new ways to keep those extra bucks in your pocket. We need to stretch our dollars, as far as we can, and for many this means suddenly finding yourself out of work and in desperate need of a quick solution to carry you through while you trying to figure things out.

Here are several ways to keep extra money in your wallet without creating that "I'm broke," look most are fearful of revealing:

At all costs, make sure your bills are paid on time. For many this may mean resorting to online bill pay to avoid late fees, to avoid purchasing stamps. If you cannot use online bill pay, purchase stamps in advance and keep you calendars updated to ensure bills are mailed in a timely manner.

Instead of going to the movies to see the latest films, go to the library and checkout the latest books, DVD's, and CD's. Going to the theatre costs an avearge of $10 per adult ticket. If you toss in the costs for snacks, that makes for an expensive evening. To avoid feeling deprived, and for an occasional treat, you may want to visit the discount theatre. Many areas have one, and the admission cost is $3.00.

Instead of buying expensive fruits and vegetables at the local grocery store, go to your local farmer's market to save a few dollars. This can greatly reduce your bill, as well as support many local small businesses.

Have items that you need? Perhaps your family members, friends, or neighbors may need the same things. Check and see if you can purchase in bulk and split the cost with them. Sometimes, others are nervous about being the first to ask for what they want. Step out of the box this year and become the one to make that first move.

The cost of gas getting to be too much? Check the cost for a bus pass, local transit system, carpool, biking, or walking. All of these methods will save you dollars, and several will help you get in shape.

For additional valuable tips that can help put you on a terrific path to trimming your budget check out www.tiphero.com

Sometimes a few extra dollars is all you need to jump start your business.

What Are The Requirements For Your Online Business?

Many people have found that working from home can provide an attractive source to earn an income apart from the traditional work place. This trend has become more common place in recent years, but with the volume of business opportunities out there, how do you know what is a real opportunity and what is a waste of time and money?

Online business opportunities are available every where! If you are a member of social media pages such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space you will notice that there seems to be an ever abundance of offers to create your own online business empire. So how do you work out the good from the bad?

Research is the best way to figure out what is right for you. You should endeavor to find out as much information about a business opportunity as you can prior to making a decision. As with any good decision, it must be based on education and available fact. For instance, if you were going out to purchase an item or a new car, you would look around, compare products, and seek advice prior to making a decision. Buying in any online business is no different. The key is finding people you can trust, with a good reputation.

The setting of goals is more important, so that you have a course to pursue exactly what you want to achieve. Goals need to be achievable and must have a time frame. Sit down and write out what your personal and business goals are. Without goals, it is easy to lose concentration. Put your goals up where you can see them every day. It reminds you of what you are working towards.

Training is of great importance when starting a new business. If you have no experience in your newly chosen career, you are going to need the support and assistance of people who do. If you don't have pre-knowledge, then making a success out of your new venture will take a considerable amount of time longer than if you work with a team of people who already know what works and what doesn't!

Remember, the key to success in any online business is to be dedicated and always ready to learn! As with any business whether it is online or traditional, you need to devote time every day to growing and managing your business. This can be tricky, particularly if you have other responsibilities in your home that can disturb you from working effectively. You need to set time aside every day when you will be able to work without interruption. Ensure you have a space dedicated to your new business and keep it organized and be focused.

Working from home can be an extremely rewarding experience. With planning and commitment it is an achievable alternative which can offer you greater freedom in comparison to the traditional work place. You can suit your work hours around your life style allowing you more time to do the things you love!

Will Sending the Gold Put Money in Your Pocket?

Well, I have had many questions emailed to me about various items in the business world, and one I received recently captured my attention. I decided since I was unsure of the answer, I would investigate. I don't have a final verdict yet, but I will let you know in full detail as soon as I do. A fan in need of some immediate additional monies asked about a company she had seen advertised on television and wondered if they were telling the truth when they advised viewers to send in their old, unwanted jewelry for cash. "Can this be that simple?" Hmmm, I wondered.

I gathered infomation on Gold Rush Now when I saw Steve Wilkos (former police officer and bodyguard for the Jerry Springer show,) on television late one night raving about how simple the process was. He trusted no other company like this one he proclaimed.

I went online and read through the instructions and fine print, filled out the online form indicating I wanted to print the Fed X label on to my printer to speed up the process... Tonight, I will gather old earrings, necklaces etc. that I no longer use, place them in a box with my items gently protected by bubble wrap and send them on their way. What will the outcome be? is this a way to make a little extra cash? I don't know, but stay tuned because you know you will receive a report on MY experience, then you can form your own opinion. Stay tuned.

Lesson From a Golden Retriever

We have a Golden Retiever named Admiral who has been a part of our family for the past 12 years. He has seen each of our family members when they have been their happiest, and on those days when each of us has not been feeling our best. During the past couple of years as age has caught up with him, he continues to have his adorable personality, but has slowed down somewhat. This is what happens with all of us. One of the major changes has been his inability to climb the stairs to the upper levels of our home. This is not a major problem, but I am a firm believer that there is usually an alternate route to get to a desired destination.

I began to notice different behavior when Admiral's legs became more stiff. He would stand at the bottom of the stairs, and stare up at us as we walked by the upper level peering down at him. It was as if he were saying "I am here, be aware of my presence." We would smile and call his name, which would get us a cheerful bark. The interesting observation is as the days and weeks went by, his determination became stronger. First he would bark, and place his front legs on the first step leading upstairs, a few days later, he would repeat this action and his front paws would extend to the second stair and he would jump up and down as his paws hit on the stair making a sound. He would never stop. This action made me think of the way one must remain while doing business. You must never quit.

There are going to be times when your path is blocked by an obstacle that has entered your road, but with determination you can keep proceeding forward towards your business goals. Sometimes, that may mean only taking a step each day, but maintaining your spark will ensure you get there.

Beginner Traps of Making Money Online From Home - Important 'Must Know' Information to Succeed

Just let me give you a heads up on what to expect from internet marketing. When in the beginning stages of building an online business, you are likely to face a few major problems along the way. To succeed, you will need to overcome these beginner challenges to allow yourself to proceed to the next level.

The first natural stage of building an online business a person goes through is the research stage. You will come across countless tips, strategies and products that will claim to be the answer to all your problems. Granted, some of these products and strategies are very effective but the trap is to get committed to too many of them at the same time at the beginning of your career. You have to stay laser focused to be able to make money online. You cannot try out every product or strategy that you hear about. So, my suggestion is to pick one, commit to it, and stick with it until it brings you some results. Then, when you have some solid results/numbers to analyze, you can step back and reevaluate.

Aside from strategies and products, there are also countless systems and models you can use to make money online, for example affiliate marketing, using eBay, offering your tangible products via your own website just to name a few. Because of this, naturally you will find many Internet Gurus that offer their proven systems that can be used together with their respective business models to make money online. Yes, some of them work really well, but the error is when you commit to too many systems and models at the same time. So again, I’m going to repeat what I suggested earlier, choose one, commit to it and stick with it until it brings you some results. Then, step back and reevaluate.

On the internet, when it comes to the matter of results, beginners often expect to see huge results created instantly. This is unrealistic expectations to have. The soonest I believe a beginner can expect to see substantial results is after 60-90 days of consistent work online using a good system. Sorry to burst your bubble people. Because of this, the mistake many people make is that they give up way too soon after just starting. They don’t give a chance for their internet business to really grow and flourish. There’s a lot of money to be made on online. Be consistent, be patient and you will be satisfied!

Last and certainly not least, the biggest trap that I believe many new online business owners fall into is the “I don’t know enough yet” syndrome. Many people fail because they don’t do anything. They do research, they learn, they read but they always think that they still don’t know enough to take action. So nothing happens online. Being afraid of doing the wrong thing is the biggest internet business trap many fall into. The best way to learn is to use what you already know and to learn from the mistakes that you make along the way. Be urgent. Take action. Do it now.

I’ve outlined a few of the most common traps a new online marketer will face in the beginning of their career. Don’t be discouraged if you have fallen for one or more of the traps mentioned above. You’re not the only one. What counts is what you do from now on. I’m sure with the right attitude and patience, anyone can succeed online.

So, good luck in your journey and hopefully I’ll see at the next level of your online career soon.

Sell Your Crafts to Earn Some Cash

With the economy being the way it is now, people are managing their spending more closely. We are all learning to make the dollars we have stretch and accomplish more. During the past holiday season I received several items that were homemade, and found these were special because of the time it took to create them and the attention to detail that was noted. With more people trying to develop ways to bring additional income to their households many are turning to this creativity to accomplish just that. So, if you have special crafts that you have created, and want to sell them, just where do you go to accomplish this? Here are a few suggestions you may try.

1. You may want to obtain a domain name, and set up your own website. If you have these skills yourself then that is an added bonus because you may not have the extra funding to hire someone. If you don't know how to do this, then ask other friends if they know someone. You may be able to do a skill swap with them. They can create the website, and perhaps you can make something for them as payment. Remember, it never hurts to ask.

2. Some cities offer businesses that cater to crafters similar to the one in my area. Take a look www.happydelusions.com. For a small fee your products can be sold for you.

3. Also, www.etsy.com may be the ideal place for you, as they strongly promote selling "all things handmade." You will suddenly find many people and their craft stores just a click away. The problem you may run in to is you will also find much competition, but that is where your creativity will come in to play. You must create a product that is unique in some way to help set yourself apart from the pack.

4. You can create a free blog and let others know about you, your talents and what you have to offer.
Look at these two examples: www.wordpress.com, www.blogger.com...

5. The most important thing is to network and never stop! If you are currently a member of Facebook use it to your advantage. If not, become a member and join the See N' Sell Arts and Crafts Fan Page. You can make a post, and communicate with others that are members as well. Learn from others. You can also create your own fan page and promote yourself. Reach millions of visitors in a short time.

6. Never stop coming up with new ways to let others know about yourself. Always keep a sample of your work in your automobile or with you. You don't want to miss any oportunities by being unprepared.

Is Cash Crate Worth The Hype?

Well, I have been questioned about Cash Crate more than once as a means to supplement a household income. I had heard of it, but honestly hadn't had any personal experience with the company. So, I decided to give it a try for a month and see what my personal experiences were. Today, I will share these findings with you. First of all once I went to the www.cashcrate.com website I thought it was cute and appeared user friendly. I quickly signed up for FREE, completed the required information, filled out a password etc. and was on my way in about 45 seconds. I watched the available tutorial to see how things should proceed and felt everything appeared straightforward enough.

The premise is you earn income by completing surveys. On Cash Crate a list of available surveys is available on your left (once you Log in,) you click on it (your survey of choice,) complete the necessary information, and once completed you click the submit button. Once Cash Crate has verified that you have completed the necessary information your earnings will be logged and visible for you to see. Until verification has occurred your potentially earned monies remain in the pending column. Each survey states what you can earn for its completion (Ex. .30, .50, 1.00, $5.00.) Some surveys completed might require a credit card to be placed on file. You are able to sort surveys to show ones that are considered as FREE of charge. I participated in surveys that did not require a credit card, being uncertain of the company I wanted to avoid potential problems later. I live by the rule if it is a work at home opportunity, I shouldn't have to pay a fee. There are occasions when you join a freelance agency and there can be a small fee to join, but as a rule of thumb-if money is required MOVE ON. If you prefer to sign up for a survey that requires credit card registration watch your trial date carefully, otherwise your credit card may get charged for something you do not want.

After looking down the list I chose surveys that appeared interesting to me and did not focus on the monies to be earned (though I might add the amounts for the ones I chose paid a small amount.) The first few I completed were straight forward and I was able to complete them in about 60 seconds. This isn't too bad I thought as I proceeded on. I was prepared to work at it for 1.5 hours on the first day. But, I soon ran in to a problem with my surveys...

While working on the surveys after filling out one or two pages, I thought they were complete. I then had to click on another required location on the form, and it took me to another page and so on and so on. I felt like I was in a maze having to go around so many corners. I couldn't tell when or how close to being finished I was. Some portions of the forms I ended up completing had nothing to do with the initial Cash Crate offer that was posted. I found out too late. There were some surveys I gave up on because it got to the point where it was frustrating and annoying. I felt tricked.

After finding myself in this situation numerous times I called it a day. My neck was stiff, my back hurt, my eyes were blurry from staring at the computer, and I was just starting to feel like I had been at it for days. By the time I finished I had earned .90 and had 1.75 pending. After giving Cash Crate a shot for another few weeks here is my conclusion...remember these are my opinions, and my experiences. I am just going to give you the straight scoop and I in no way expect you to substitute your judgment or opinions for my own...

Can you earn money from completing surveys for Cash Crate? Absolutely! Is it going to be the type of money most of you are seeking? I don't think so. But, if you are looking to earn a few extra dollars to add to your monthly income, and you have the TIME needed to put in to all of the surveys, then you may want to give them a look.
Cash Crate also has a referral link, so if you have friends or family members that may want to come on board-then you can earn a percentage from those that sign up from your referral link.

I hope you have a separate email address because you will find yourself overwhelmed with spam in your in-box, and solicitors calling your home often. Many of the surveys asking for email addresses share this information with others. No sooner had I completed a survey than my phone started ringing from out of state companies with business offers. Fortunately I have another business line and can keep this separate and controlled. But, BEWARE and read the small print carefully.

So, you can earn money with this business opportunity but for most people unless you want to jump over some major hurdles, you may still find yourself ordering from the McDonald's Dollar Menu.

4 Best Work At Home Opportunities

Because there are so many work at home opportunities available thanks to the Internet it would be impossible to cover them in one short article. In fact we could write an entire book on the subject. So,rather than look at specific opportunities in this article we will give you 4 of the best ways you can make money working at home.

1. Are you familiar with telecommuting? Many companies are willing to hire employees to work from home rather than at their place of business.

To do this type of work you will need specific skills that are required by the employer themselves. You can be rewarded with a job from home that includes great pay, and in many cases also includes benefits if you have skills.

Tjobs.com is a website that matches employers and employees. They lay out the various jobs available by categories so you can see exactly what skills will be required.

There is a $15 a year membership fee to apply for these jobs. However it only takes one good job to begin working at home with telecommuting.

2. Affiliate marketing is a way thousands of people are making money working at home. With this business model you join affiliate programs for free and promote the affiliate website on the Internet.

Each website is coded with your ID number so all of your sales are tracked automatically. Depending on the affiliate program you can be paid weekly, biweekly, or monthly. There are some instant commission affiliate programs available today where you get a check right away for every sale you make.

3. There is a tremendous demand for freelance writers online today. Blogging is a perfect example of this.

You can get paid to work at home writing blog articles for the millions of blogs that need content right now. This is a great way to get paid to work at home and can be a lot of fun as well.

This is one of the best work at home opportunities available right now so if you have a skill for writing, or would like to learn how to do it, this is well worth pursuing.

4. Start your own niche blog and write about something you have a passion for. Monetize it with affiliate programs such as the Google Adsense program.

You can also add banners from other affiliate products. As your blog begins to get traffic you can even sell advertising directly to advertisers. Many people with their own niche blog are earning five and six figure incomes yearly.

These are 4 of the best work at home opportunities on the Internet today. Using the Internet today you can do one or more of these to make a lot of money.

Envelope Stuffing Work From Home - Scam Or Genuine Business Opportunity?

At first glance this can seem like a really attractive opportunity for those that can't go out to work but want to make some extra cash from the comfort of their home. People or companies that offer envelope stuffing work from home often use great ad copy to entice you into the idea of making money doing this kind of work, but there are certain things you should watch out for if you want to avoid getting scammed.

Here are 10 things to look out for:

1) It's not expensive to get envelopes stuffed, so the first question you need to ask yourself is why these people or companies are offering you money to do it from home.

2) One big red flag is if they ask you to stump up cash for a starter kit of any kind. They don't tell you what it contains but they expect money in advance. Run for the hills if you see this.

3) Never send an advance payment for anything whatsoever, even if they say they can't accept you without this upfront free. It's 99% that this is a scam if they ask for any kind of upfront payment.

4) If the company says you need to refer other people and ask them for any kind of upfront fees, avoid them as this is basically a pyramid scheme whereby you only get paid when someone else has been duped into joining this so-called opportunity.

5) Any envelope stuffing work from home opportunities that require you to do any paid advertising in order to receive self-addressed, stamped envelopes in exchange for information you are offering are also best avoided. Everyone knows in these modern times that such requests for free information can be handled via e-mail or freephone numbers.

6) Avoid any such opportunities that are sales letters for the very work you have signed up for. All you would be doing is mailing out to people offering them the same kind of work you are doing but there is no real product involved in the equation.

7) Sometimes these companies or people will hook you in by offering reports on legitimate jobs working from your own home, but the real reason behind the report is to try and recruit you into envelope stuffing work from home. The reality is you are unlikely to ever see any money resulting from the work you have actually done.

8) Bogus testimonials are common in this area, but they aren't worth the paper they are written on in most instances. Even if you can contact the people that have submitted these testimonials, still remain wary as they could be in on the scheme.

9) If the company does not have a way of contacting them other than physically writing a letter to them, give them a wide berth as there's usually a good reason why you cannot contact them.

10) To get a refund you usually need to complete a certain number of orders first. Unfortunately for you it's usually an unreasonably large number.

The most legitimate way of doing envelope stuffing work from home is to set up your own direct mail business or sell a legitimate service by using this medium to solicit sales and subsequent commissions. Products can also be marketed this way.

Most envelope stuffing programs you see advertised are usually not the great opportunity they first appear.

Are We Really In Charge of the Schedule?

This is a question I have had plenty of time to ponder upon during the past couple of days. As I reviewed 2009 I realize how blessed I am. Looking at the difficulties in the world: the recession, healthcare, violence, natural disasters etc. I have really taken the time to recognize that on a daily basis my life needs are being met and we (family) are still making it. I am grateful.

After ringing in the new year with a delicious Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, and going to the theatre to check out the amazing movie Avatar- if you haven't seen it, be sure to check it out... I watched Dick Clark's New Year Rockin Eve as the final minutes of 2009 ticked away. I had my schedule in hand, and knew what was going to happen on 1/4/10 after my youngest daughter was dropped off at school. I had the schedule planned, and business was going to be taken care of. Then it happened! You might wonder what it is. It is life. I was struck with an unexpected illness that had me confined to the house and bed for the next few days. Boy was I mad. This wasn't on the schedule. But, I guess that is a life lesson. Sometimes we have plans for what we think is coming, and then we learn we are not always in charge. This is how life is, and this is how your business ventures will be.

Seize it as an opportunity to revise the schedule, face the challenges, and come back stronger than ever. That is what I am going to do.
